Relive the citybooks event in Graz. Onno Kosters and Simone Lenaerts read from their work
Last month the Literaturhaus Graz was home to a festive literary evening. Artist Lea Titz presented her photos and the authors who participated with this Austrian edition of citybooks read from their own citybooks. You can now relive this evening! The complete videoregistration can be watched here.
The Dutch poet Onno Kosters excited the audience with his intense recitation of his poetry. He read several poems about Graz, and also some poems from the series All and Nothing, which he wrote for citybooks Utrecht. The Flemish author Simone Lenaerts read a fragment from her debutnovel Seawater is salt, they say. Subsequently actor Rudi Widerhofer brought the German translations of these Dutch texts to life with his lively performance.
The original German citybooks, and the Dutch translations of these texts, by Werner Schandor, Andrea Stift and Milena M. Flašar are now available via the citybooks website as webtexts and e-books, and soon as podcasts. The other contributions to citybooks Graz and their translations to English and French will appear online later this year.
citybooks Graz is a project in cooperation with Next – Verein für zeitgenosschische Kunst.
