Presentation of new issue of DW B with citybooks prepublication
On Friday the 20th of April, at Perdu in Amsterdam, the new issue of the literary magazine DW B will be presented, entitled Clubsandwich. Authors and artists from other disciplines will offer interpretations of the notion of ‘club’, both in words and images, through experience and reflection, and by assuming pro- and anti-club positions. An evening with Atte Jongstra, Ingrid Hoogervorst, Huub Beurskens, Maarten van der Graaff, Rob Schouten, Marjolijn Februari, Meinbert Gozewijn van Soest, Lies Van Gasse + pianist, Hugo Bousset and Anna van Leeuwen.
Also in this issue of DW B: the prepublication of citybooks by Saskia de Coster and Erik Lindner. Saskia de Coster spent her residency in Skopje, the city about which she wrote her citybook A Hundred and Forty Kilos of Love; a wild adventure in which an overweight lesbian travels to the Macedonian capital to find her dream woman, Ivana. Erik Lindner wrote ten poems about Charleroi, highly concentrated miniatures in which the poet invites you to share with him the little-big moments of everyday life in the Wallonian industrial city.
Both citybooks will appear shortly as webtexts at www.city-books.eu, and are already available to listen to and download as podcasts, recorded by the authors.
The presentation in Perdu is a combination of recitals from, and new readings inspired by, the issue Clubsandwich:
