Peter Terrin wins AKO Prize for Literature with ‘Post mortem’
Great news for literature: Peter Terrin has won the AKO Prize for Literature with Post mortem. Of course, deBuren would like to sincerely congratulate him! In 2009, Terrin wrote the Radio Book For the Sake of Peace. The original Dutch version of his citybook De ware toedracht (The facts of the case), about Turnhout, is now online in Dutch! The English and French translations and the podcasts will follow in November and December.
The AKO jury praises Terrin as follows: ‘In a time in which we search for firm footing, and in which the media plays an increasing role in forming our lives, the jury has chosen an author who boldly declares his love for literature. What kind of footing can literature offer us when fate is fast catching up and the camera is running? Post mortem answers that question.’
