Peter Holvoet-Hanssen writes Slauerhoffian poem
In Utrecht, from the 10th until the 25th of November, the third edition of the festival Literaire Meesters (Literary Masters) will take place, this year devoted to Slauerhoff.
In Estonia, poet Peter Holvoet-Hanssen discovered the captain’s town Kasmu, a Slauerhoff location par excellence. He wrote the poem Slauerhoff in Estonia: the nightingale of Käsmu in homage to the place. Holvoet-Hanssen will recite the poem on the 22nd of November during the poetry evening iPoetryLive, on the podium at Moira in Utrecht, an evening in the spirit of ship’s doctor and poet J.J. Slauerhoff (1898 – 1936).
