Literaire Loketten: citybooks by Annelies Verbeke and Gustaaf Peek
On the 9th of October, Annelies Verbeke (citybooks Ghent) and Gustaaf Peek (citybooks Semarang) will pay special visits as guests at a literary lunch in the ‘Loketten’ of the Flemish Parliament. The authors will be interviewed by Annemie Tweepenninckx (VRT/Klara) and will read from their citybooks.
Home Town, the citybook by Verbeke, is a drily comic text about the city she lives in, Ghent.
Gustaaf Peek travelled to Semarang (Indonesia) and wrote 9 Letters to Maria M. there. The text is an autobiographical tale told through letters, inspired by his stay in a country in which an important part of his family history played out long ago…
