Large-scale citybooks exhibition in Amsterdam

Travel with us on a journey around the world, starting in Amsterdam! On the 26th of April, the Flemish House of Culture de Brakke Grond opens a large-scale retrospective citybooks exhibition.

In the summer of 2012 the first citybooks exhibition took place in De Markten in Brussels. This spring the city portraits travel to Amsterdam. At the invitation of deBuren, young photographers made a citybook; a city portrait in 24 photos. The result is a surprising and compelling collection of images from fifteen cities across Europe and far beyond. From Bucharest to Tbilisi, from Grahamstown to Charleroi.

With work by Christian Binder, David Bocking, Sander Buyck, Lisa Van Damme, Andrea Galiazzo, Martijn van de Griendt, Kakha Kakhiani, Dadang Pribadi, Pieter-Jan De Pue, Maciej Rukasz, Sophie Smith, Frosina Stojkovska and Lea Titz. Alongside the photos, there’ll also be the chance to watch the City One Minute videos, and to listen to the citybooks stories.

The exhibition is open from 26.04 > 02.06.2013

Opening: Brands met boeken live | 26.04 - 17:30

During the exhibition opening, the radio programme Brands met boeken (Brands with Books) will be broadcast live from the Brakke Grond.
