Jeroen Olyslaegers publishes new novel 'Winst'
The Antwerp author Jeroen Olyslaegers has released the follow-up to his much-lauded novel Wij (We). Winst (Profit) (published by De Bezige Bij Antwerp) follows the fate of an art dealer who seems to be losing everything he holds dear. His luck appears to turn when he is invited to organise an exhibition in Berlin. Together with his ex-wife and his son he dives into the interminable nighttime of a Berlin divided by apocalyptic extravaganza and bare powerlessness.
Olyslaegers has previously written two citybooks: Another Cheek about Ostend, in which the protagonist is confronted by the raw edges of the coastal city. In This is Where you Begin Again the writer dons the shoes of a woman in search of something in Utrecht.
