Feast of ideas at the Ideas Bazaar in Sheffield

citybooks Sheffield coordinator Henriette Louwerse is a senior lecturer at the Department of Germanic Studies of Sheffield University, and in her enthusiasm for the project she works tirelessly to spread the word about citybooks. Taking part in the Ideas Bazaar was a wonderful opportunity to introduce citybooks to the Sheffield community.

The Ideas Bazaar is an event organised by the University of Sheffield specifically aimed at facilitating the exchange of ideas, making new contacts and forging new alliances. And interest there was plenty. It took Henriette and three of her assistants to deal with the overwhelming number of queries and expressions of interest. They varied from freelance writers to filmmakers and from community groups to organisers of Sheffield's documentary festivals taking a keen interest in the city-one-minute concept.
The Sheffield team came up with a nice buzz line to sum up the project: citybooks, rooted in the city, yet reaching far beyond. We are glad to see that thanks to events like these, citybooks Sheffield is becoming firmly rooted within the Sheffield community!
