citybooks features in events celebrating five years of Luisterpunt at Vooruit
On the 14th of June, the Flemish Library for Audio Books and Braille Books, Luisterpunt, will celebrate its fifth anniversary at the Vooruit in Ghent. deBuren’s citybooks and Radiobooks find a keen audience in the library’s audience, and are frequently listened to on site. deBuren extends warm congratulations to Luisterpunt, and is organizing a literary evening on the 14th of June, with three citybooks authors, Peter Holvoet-Hanssen, Bart Van Loo and Annelies Verbeke, between 18:30 and 20:00.
Verbeke, a resident of Ghent, is also the first author to write a citybook about the city. Her story, Woonplaats, was recently published on the citybooks website in the original Dutch. Annelies Verbeke will be heading into Luisterpunt’s recording studio in the near future, where she’ll record her own text. The podcast will be made available online in the next few weeks, so keep an eye on the website! The citybooks by Peter Holvoet-Hanssen (citybooks Ostend) and Bart Van Loo (citybooks Chartres) are already available to listen to, read or download at www.citybooks.eu. You’ll find the full programme for the Luisterpunt celebrations at www.deburen.eu/en/events/detail/five-years-luisterpunt.
