Renowned Dutch illustrator Thé Tjong-Khing drew The Black Cloud, a city portrait of Haarlem. Khing freely mixes past and present in his series of drawings. We see historic characters, who share history with Haarlem, running past well-known locations in the city, now deserted due to the Covid-19 lockdown. And is that 'Black Cloud'  really smoke, caused by a fire in the cathedral, or is Khing referring to the Harlem citizens' nickname 'muggen' (mosquitos), based on a legend about bewitched citizens doomed to fly around the tower forever?
