Sanne De Wilde
Sanne De Wilde (1987, Antwerpen) studied photography at the KASK in Ghent. Her graduation project, the book The Dwarf Empire (2012), won the Photo Academy Award 2012 in the categories Volkskrant Magazine and De Morgen, and the International Photography Award Emergentes DST 2013. In 2013, she won the Nikon Press award for Young Promising Photographer for her series of portraits of albino Samoans. The British Journal of Photography selected De Wilde as one of ‘the best emerging talents from around the world.’ Currently, De Wilde works as a freelance photograph at de Volkskrant.
For citybooks, Sanne De Wilde will make a city portrait of Ghent. The series of 24 photos will be exhibited as part of the Fotofestival Gent at STAM from June 12th until August 30th 2015. The photos will then also be published on citybooks.eu. Here in advance, is a little taster! Alongside the citybooks photos, the exhibition will also feature her impressive series Samoa Kekea and Snow White.
