Mauro Pawlowski (born 24 April 1971) is one of the key figures in the Belgian contemporary music scene. He was born in Koersel, Belgium, and is of Italian and Polish descent. He started his career as frontman of the rockband Evil Superstars in 1992. This group was, along with dEUS, part of the first wave of the Belgian music boom in the 90's. He split from the band in 1998 and has since then played in numerous bands, including Mitsoobishy Jacson, Kiss my Jazz, Monguito and Shadowgraphic City. He is currently a member of dEUS, The Love Substitutes and I Hate Camera. Beside these projects, Mauro has released solo work under various aliases.
Although Pawlowski is primarily known for his music, he is also engaged in literature. In 2008 he toured with the Dutch poet and writer Ramsey Nasr in a program that combined literature with music and theatre and he published a collection of poems under his full name: Mauro Antonio Pawlowski. Mauro is currently working on new texts, while touring with dEUS to promote their new album ‘Keeping you close’.
