After finishing his studies in English and American Literature at the University of Leiden, Gustaaf Peek (The Netherlands, 1975) started writing poetry before turning to prose. In 2006 his debut novel Armin was published, followed by Dover two years later. He works as an editor of a literary magazine and writes articles about art and literature for newspapers and other periodicals. In 2010 his novel Ik was Amerika (I was America) was published, for which he received the BNG New Literature Prize and the F. Bordewijk Prize. Peek lives and works in Amsterdam.

Setelah menamatkan studi sastra Inggris dan Amerika, Gustaaf Peek (1975) menulis puisi. Tahun 2006 ia membuat debutnya dengan novel Armin, diikuti Dover dua tahun kemudian. Ia adalah editor majalah sastra dan menulis artikel mengenai seni dan sastra. Tahun 2010 novelnya Ik was Amerika diterbitkan. Untuk novel itu Gustaaf Peek menerima penghargaan BNG Nieuwe Literatuurprijs dan penghargaan F. Borderwijk. Ia tinggal dan bekerja di Amsterdam.
