Apart from poetry and short stories, he also writes columns and articles and has an interest in photography and economy. In 1984 his first poetry anthology Geloofsbelydenis van ’n kluisenaar (Confessions of a Hermit), was published by Perskor – his only anthology to be published by a mainstream publisher. His publications include seven poetry and two short story anthologies. Amongst them In God’s country: No. 2-21 (1999), Gedigte, talk show hosts & reality shows (2009) and recently Rangeer (2009). In the 1980’s he published the literary magazine Akuut and also published an anthology of short stories Brunch met twee (Brunch for Two) as an e-book at Contentlot.com, together with the poet Peter Snyders. Du Plessis performed at various festivals, amongst others the Nijmegen poetry festival and Poetry Africa ‘99 in Durban. Apart from writing he works as an accountant.
